Richard Chessor, GB Swimming

Richard is the Performance Nutritionist for British Swimming and is responsible for all nutritional support across their World Class Performance Programme.  The role involves direct support to swimmers and coaches as well as environmental support around training camps and competitions and strategic development of nutritional services.  Richard joined British Swimming in the summer of 2016 following 8 years as the Lead Nutritionist for Scottish Rugby.  Prior to this, Richard worked with the English Institute of Sport in the build up to the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.  His role was to provide nutrition support to the weight-category athletes in boxing and judo.

Out with his work in rugby Richard also provides support to professional football, individual athletes and businesses in the nutrition industry.  His main sports nutrition interests lie in weight management and techniques to optimise the adaptive response to training.

Richard holds an MSc in Sport and Exercise Nutrition and was an inaugural graduate of the IOC Diploma in Sport and Exercise Nutrition, he is also a Registered Nutritionist with AfN and a Practitioner Registrant of SENr.
