Portfolio Preparation Day for SENr Registration

Friday 10th May 2013, Coventry University

Facilitators:

Experienced practitioners in professional development education and the field of sport and exercise nutrition.

Aimed at:

• SENr Graduate Registrants (cost £20).
• BDA members wishing to register with SENr (cost £95).
• Non-BDA members wishing to register with  SENr  (cost £120).

This is a must-attend event providing delegates with a detailed understanding of the requirements of SENr portfolio submission. It will outline High Performance, Research / Education and Public Health/Exercise - the three distinct pathway options for full registration which are due to be launched April 2013.

LATEST NEWS: In response to student feedback, SENr have decided to offer a reduced rate for the Portfolio Preparation event to those who are currently enrolled on a postgraduate degree in Sports and Exercise Nutrition (or other relevant postgraduate course which may lead to registration on the SENr Graduate Register).  This reduced rate is £20. This offer only extends to current students and those who are already registered as graduates on the SEN register.

Activities on the day include:

• A keynote speech from Dr Kevin Currell, Lead Performance Nutritionist, English Institute of Sport.
• Insight into a successful career in sport nutrition, from senior professionals.
• Discussion regarding ethical practice.
• Workshops: Reflection, Portfolio Preparation (including personal statements and case studies).
• Opportunities for networking.

Come along and...

• Understand the concept of personal reflection and how to apply this to professional practice;
• Reflect on issues of ethics in Sports Nutrition, in particular, consideration of the SENr Code of Conduct and applying this to professional practice;
• Fully understand the requirements involved in registering with SENr, as well as writing personal statements and case studies, mapping to SENr competencies and identifying any gaps before registration.
