Lorna Cooke, BSc (Hons) Anatomical Sciences, PG Diploma Nutrition and Dietetics, PG Cert Sports and Exercise Nutrition. Registered Dietitian and RSEN (high performance).


Lorna’s route to a career in sports nutrition started with the completion of an Undergraduate BSc Honours degree in Anatomical Sciences from the University of Edinburgh in 2002, a Postgraduate Diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics from Glasgow Caledonian University in 2005 and a Postgraduate Certificate in Sports and Exercise Nutrition from Coventry University in 2011.


As a registered dietitian, Lorna worked within the NHS before moving into industry and working for Nutricia Medical. She started working at the Sport NI Sports Institute in 2011 and since then has provided nutrition support to athletes and coaches from a wide range of sports including athletics, swimming, rowing, cycling, triathlon, Ulster rugby, hockey, judo and sailing. Her current focus is within Ulster Women’s Rugby, triathlon, para-triathlon, rowing, swimming, para-swimming and athletics. Lorna currently guest lectures in the University of Ulster.


Out with her role in the Sports Institute, Lorna also provides support to the Northern Ireland Archery Society and local gymnasiums.
