The Dairy Council

The Dairy Council produces a newsletter every four months specifically for health and fitness professionals and sports scientists, designed to bring the latest information with regards milk and sport.

This series of nine newsletters will form part of the EU funded ‘Milk it for all it’s worth’ campaign designed to promote the importance of physical activity and good nutrition, including low fat milk, in young people  and to provide key professionals with information on the science supporting milk and its potential benefit to sport.

The newsletters feature reviews of the scientific literature on milk and its relation to sports physiology, as well as interviews with sports academics, along with top references on milk and sport.  The publication is both relevant and interesting.

The publication is free, as is postage and packing.

In addition, as part of the ‘Milk it for all it’s worth’ campaign, The Dairy Council produces a sports and nutrition guide for young people. It gives basic tips on nutrition and hydration for sport. It also introduces some inspirational young athletes with their thoughts on how good nutrition helps them perform in their sports.

Nourishing Excellence

The Dairy Council’s Milk it for all its Worth campaign video is now on You Tube, and is worth watching if you are interested in novel ways of presenting nutritional information or just interested in the nutrients milk can provide the athlete.

The atmospheric black and white sports film features talented young sports people from the world of rugby, football, rhythmic gymnastics , table tennis  and shot put showing ball skills and illustrating some of the many nutrients  in one glass of milk like calcium, protein, iodine, zinc, B12 and B2
